Whatever It Takes, God

Whatever It Takes, God

The story below comes from Margaret C. and is a testimony of answered prayer for her prodigal son

About 2 1/2 years ago my son was going through addiction. He was on heroin and was stealing, had a possession charge and was continuing to shoplift to support his habit. He was getting into all kinds of trouble. He was still living in my home at the time and most of the time I was not sure where he was or if he was even alive.

At this same time, I also had a friend who wanted to start a Bible study called “Praying for Your Prodigal.” I was faithful in going to the Bible study even when I could barely function.  We had group of ladies all going through praying for your prodigal. It was lowest point in my life yet the ladies told me they saw such a change in me because of what God was doing through this study and they were amazed.

I was boldly praying and knew God was going to see me through this. The toughest thing I prayed during the study was “God do whatever it takes to bring my son to his senses.”  And God showed up in a big way.

My son ended up going to jail but he was sober and alive. He told me jail was the only thing that would have worked. I didn’t understand that at first but God found a way to save my son’s life.

He is out of jail now and has been clean for 1 year and 7 months now.  No matter how low and how dark your life seems, talk to God and be ready to pray that prayer “whatever it takes, God” to bring your child to his senses.

I’m not saying it’s easy. In fact, you will need to be a prayer warrior and be patient. Remember God always answers. He may say “It’s not time now” or “No” or He may say “Wait” but in the meanwhile, pray and surround yourself with other prayer warriors.

Praise the Lord. Sometimes it is hard to let God do what He needs to do to save us or our loved ones. This story reminds us that He does know what He is doing and we need to be faithful to His guidance.
    thanks
